The Tashkent Medical Academy hosted the international conference of the BERNICA project as part of the «International Days» of the Erasmus+ program
On April 10-11, 2025, the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Current Issues of Nutrition and Dietetics: Nutritional Features of Different Population Groups» was held in the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Tashkent Medical Academy, organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ BERNICA project. The event brought together experts and scientists in the field of nutrition to exchange experiences and discuss the latest achievements in nutrition science with an emphasis on public health and dietetic approaches for different population groups.
The Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov was represented at the conference by PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Nutrition named after Academician T. Sharmanov Arailym Beisbekova. The key topics of the conference included the role of protein in sports nutrition, the use of functional foods and dietary supplements, diet therapy for concomitant diseases, nutritional features for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and endocrine disorders. KazNMU’s participation in this event underlines its commitment to the development of nutrition science and its active participation in international initiatives aimed at improving the health and quality of life of the population.
