S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University (KazNMU) and Johns Hopkins Medicine International Discuss Prospects for Partnership
On September 17, 2025, an official meeting was held at the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov with a delegation from Johns Hopkins Medicine International (USA). The discussions focused on strengthening international cooperation, developing joint research initiatives, and introducing innovative practices in medical education and healthcare in Kazakhstan.
The purpose of the event was to explore prospects for expanding international collaboration in medicine, clinical training, continuing medical education, as well as scientific and academic exchange. Special attention was given to the integration of KazNMU into international research projects, which will open new opportunities for Kazakh scientists and students.
The Johns Hopkins Medicine International delegation included:
- Laurent Moreau, Vice President for Global Initiatives
- Chengda Zhang, Director of Global Services.
KazNMU was represented by First Vice-Rector Dilyara Radikovna Kaidarova, vice-rectors, heads of key departments, the Center for Innovative Practices of Postgraduate Education, the Technology Commercialization Center, as well as representatives of the School of Pharmacy and the Office of International Cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties confirmed their readiness to develop a partnership and jointly implement initiatives aimed at strengthening academic and clinical capacity, improving the quality of specialist training, and introducing advanced innovative practices in medicine.
