Elsevier Delegation Visits Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University
On July 23, 2026, Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University (KazNMU) hosted a delegation from Elsevier, an international company and one of the world’s leading publishers of scientific literature and providers of digital solutions for science, education and healthcare. The visit took place as part of the University’s efforts to develop international cooperation and expand access to modern scientific and educational resources.
The delegation included Youngsuk Chi, Chairman of Elsevier’s Board of Directors and Director of Corporate Affairs at RELX Group.
The central event of the visit was a meeting between the Elsevier delegation and Marat Yedigeuly, Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of KazNMU. Members of the University’s leadership and representatives of the Department of International Cooperation also took part in the discussions.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for developing the partnership between KazNMU and Elsevier. Particular attention was given to expanding the University’s access to scientific journals, electronic databases and Elsevier’s modern digital solutions designed to support research activities, increase researchers’ publication output and promote international academic cooperation.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in strengthening cooperation and expressed their readiness to continue working together in science and education, as well as to introduce modern information and analytical tools that will contribute to the development of the University’s research capacity.
