KazNMU Researchers Participate in the NutrIX 2026 International Conference
From 17 to 19 September 2026, Nazarbayev University in Astana hosted the NutrIX 2026 International Conference, bringing together leading experts working at the intersection of nutrition, health, artificial intelligence, and food systems.
The conference was attended by A.K. Beisbekova and A.N. Kozhakhmetova, Associate Professors at the Department of Nutritiology named after Academician T. Sharmanov, Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University (KazNMU), who presented the results of their research through poster presentations.
The scientific and networking sessions featuring leading international researchers were of particular interest. The discussions addressed emerging research areas, including the application of artificial intelligence in nutrition science, the genetics of taste perception, nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics, as well as innovative approaches to investigating the relationship between nutrition and health.
The conference served as a major international scientific platform, bringing together leading experts from Kazakhstan and researchers representing renowned universities and research institutions, including the University of Washington, Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, University of Dundee, University of Catania, and Northwestern University.
The scientific programme covered a broad range of current topics, including nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics, population nutrition and nutrition monitoring, nutrition-related risk assessment, the effective use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in nutrition research, as well as evidence-based approaches to the prevention and management of cardiorenal-metabolic diseases.
Participation in NutrIX 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to explore cutting-edge international research, exchange professional expertise, and strengthen international academic and scientific collaboration in the fields of nutrition and public health.
