Republican Conference “Neurology of Astana During the Years of Independence: Science, Clinical Practice, and Mentorship”
On June 4–5, Astana hosted the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation, “Neurology of Astana During the Years of Independence: Science, Clinical Practice, and Mentorship.” The event brought together neurologists, researchers, young professionals, and international experts.
The conference was organized by the Public Association “Academy of Neurologists of Astana,” led by the Chief Freelance Neurologist of Astana, Bagyzhan Rysbaevna Syzdykova, and the Astana Medical University.
Conference participants discussed the stages of formation and development of the capital’s neurological service throughout the years of Kazakhstan’s independence. Specialists addressed the implementation of new technologies, modern diagnostic and treatment approaches for nervous system disorders, as well as current clinical protocols for patient care.
The key speakers representing the Department of Nervous Diseases of Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University were:
- Saule Tleubergenovna Turuspekova — Head of the Department;
- Yerkyn Smagulovich Nurguzhayev — Professor;
- Klara Kanatovna Almakhanova — Associate Professor.
Nurgul Bauyrzhanovna Bakhytova, Assistant of the Department, also participated in the conference.
An important part of the program was devoted to discussing the contribution of distinguished scholars to the development of the medical school. Participants highlighted the significant role of Alma Seidualiyevna Zhusupova, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Professor, in the advancement of neurology in the capital, the establishment of clinical standards, and the training of highly qualified specialists for the regions of the country.
The conference strengthened professional ties among regional medical schools and outlined new opportunities for collaborative scientific and practical work among physicians across Kazakhstan.
