Saint Petersburg professor visits department of microbiology, virology for academic exchange

Within the framework of international cooperation and the implementation of SDG 3, SDG 4, and SDG 17, from May 4 to May 15, 2026, the department of microbiology, virology is hosting a visit from the invited professor of the department of clinical mycology, allergology, and immunology of the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov, doctor of medical sciences Sofya Khostelidi (Saint Petersburg, Russia).

The purpose of the visit is to introduce real clinical experience into the diagnosis of invasive mycoses.

Sofya Khostelidi is a highly qualified specialist, doctor of medical sciences, associate professor, infectious disease physician, and internist, with an H-index of 11. Over the past five years, she has published 4 textbooks, 88 scientific articles, 10 publications in international journals, and 46 conference proceedings.
