The Heroic Daughter of the Kazakh Nation – Manshuk Mametova
On April 24, 2025, an educational event titled “The Heroic Daughter of the Kazakh Nation – Manshuk Mametova” was held at the KazNMU Scientific Library. The purpose of the event was to inform students about the heroic deeds and life of Manshuk Mametova, and within the framework of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, to instill patriotism, love for the homeland, and respect for the feats of national heroes The HIV infection and infection control course was organized by the faculty members of the Departments of Epidemiology and Public Health: Zh.B. Beissenbinova, Zh. Alekesheva, L.Zh. Temirbayeva, G.A. Begimbetova, M.S. Musina, Head of the Reference and Bibliographic Department of the KazNMU Scientific Library S.A. Eleukenova, N.S. Omarova, and 2nd-year students majoring in Public Health. During the event, students were presented with biographical information about Manshuk Mametova and her heroism during the Great Patriotic War. Video materials highlighting her bravery on the battlefield were shown. Students recited poems dedicated to the image of the heroine and performed literary readings. A mini discussion was also held, where participants shared thoughts on the moral legacy and courageous example left by Manshuk Mametova for today’s generation.
The event was held at a high level and left a significant patriotic and educational impression on the students. Through the personality of Manshuk Mametova, participants realized the importance of such values as patriotism, heroism, and bravery. The hosts emphasized the historical significance of Victory Day and highlighted Manshuk Mametova’s unique place in history. The State Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan was performed. A stage performance included a monologue by Manshuk, poetry readings, and a traditional dombra music piece.
The head of the Reference and Bibliographic Department of the KazNMU Scientific Library, S.A. Eleukenova, presented a book exhibition dedicated to Manshuk Mametova and emphasized that the goal of the event was to educate students in the spirit of patriotism through her image, to foster love for the country, and to preserve the memory of heroic deeds. At the conclusion of the event, the hosts emphasized its significance, stating that the heroism of women like Manshuk is a symbol of the national spirit. All participants performed the song “Atameken” together. The final speech was delivered by the Associate Professor of the department, Laylya Zhuldasovna Alekesheva.
The event ended with participants laying flowers at the monument to Manshuk Mametova. The event was meaningful and held at a high educational level. Through the heroic example of Manshuk Mametova, the participants gained a deeper understanding of spiritual values and strengthened their patriotic feelings.
