Motivational lecture by the Managing Director of Antigen Scientific and Production Enterprise LLP, Professor N.N. Akhmetstadikov, on science, technological solutions and the commercialisation of production
On 23 April 2026, a motivational lecture was delivered by the CEO and founder of Antigen Scientific and Production Enterprise LLP, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor Nurlan Nuroldinovich Akhmetadykov, on the topic: ‘Antigen Scientific and Production Enterprise: science, technological solutions and commercialisation of production’. Farida Bakhtiyarovna Amutova, PhD, Head of the Laboratory of Physical and Chemical Research Methods and winner of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s ‘Best Researcher’ award for 2025, also delivered a motivational lecture on the topic: ‘Research Activities and the Laboratory’s Capabilities’.
At the start of the event, the Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Zuriadda Bektemirovna Sakipova, highlighted the fruitful collaboration between S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University and one of the country’s leading companies in the development and production of immunobiological preparations – NPP Atigen LLP.
Professor N.N. Akhmetadykov spoke about the scientific research and the diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive agents for infectious diseases in humans and farm animals developed by the company.
The company was one of the first in Kazakhstan to introduce GMP standards into the production of immunobiological preparations and to modernise its research and production processes in accordance with the requirements of the European GMP Accreditation Bureau. The first industrial batches of the Kazakhstani QazVac vaccine (around 1 million doses) were produced at Antigen Scientific and Production LLP during the coronavirus pandemic.
In 2022, Antigen NPP LLP was awarded the ‘Altyn Sapa’ Presidential Prize for its innovative developments and the introduction of new technologies. The company has become a leading enterprise in Kazakhstan and Central Asia in the production of veterinary and immunobiological preparations, diagnostic test systems and medical devices, and, in essence, a flagship of domestic science. The company’s annual production volume of prophylactic preparations stands at 50–70 million doses, and that of diagnostic preparations at 30–50 million doses.
Based on the results of scientific research, 96 intellectual property documents have been obtained, including 13 patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and 83 provisional and innovation patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The company’s research facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for carrying out various tasks in the fields of veterinary science, biology, chemistry and food safety. F.B. Amutova spoke about the capabilities and research areas of the laboratory for physico-chemical research methods. The laboratory works across four priority areas, each of which involves original research of international standard, seamlessly combining analytical chemistry and food safety.
The results of research into camel milk and drinking milk as a vector for the migration of hidden toxins were particularly interesting.
Every year, students, master’s students and doctoral candidates from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakh National Agrarian University, S. Seifullin Kazakh Agricultural Technical University and the Agricultural Technical University undertake their research placements at Antigen NPP LLP.
The company’s staff actively participate in research projects funded by the Ministry of Health (MoH) of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Education and Science (MoES) of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Agriculture, JSC ‘Science Fund’, as well as foreign foundations.
