On International Children’s Day, the Competence Center for Pediatric Infectious Diseases Opened in Almaty
On June 1, 2026, on International Children’s Day, the grand opening of the Competence Center for Pediatric Infectious Diseases took place at the Children’s City Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital of Almaty.
The ceremony was attended by M. Pashimov, Head of the Public Health Department of Almaty; Dr. Med. Sci., Professor A.K. Katarbayev, Head of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University (KazNMU); E.B. Seralin, Director of the Children’s City Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital of Almaty; as well as heads of medical organizations and healthcare specialists.
In his opening remarks, Marat Pashimov noted that the new Competence Center will become an important platform for professional exchange of experience, the implementation of modern medical technologies, and improving the quality of specialized medical care for children.
The creation of the Competence Center aims to enhance the pediatric infectious disease service, increase the accessibility and quality of medical care, and develop interregional cooperation in the field of children’s health protection.
